About Us

RaDO is a national Ethiopian charity organization established in 1997 with a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable communities.

About RaDo

Our journey began with a focus on physical rehabilitation and HIV/AIDS, two pressing humanitarian issues at the time. We subsequently expanded our work to include Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) programs in Tigray and Afar, supported by the World Bank and UNICEF.

Over the years

RaDO has continued to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of the communities we serve. We have intervened in various areas, including:

Health and Wellbeing

Promoting physical and mental health, providing healthcare services, and addressing nutrition and sanitation needs.

Livelihoods

Supporting economic empowerment through vocational training, microfinance, and community-based enterprises.

Rehabilitation services

Establishing orthopedic and physiotherapy units in fourteen hospitals across Ethiopia, supported by Handicap International France, UNHCR, and the British Embassy.

Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV/AIDS

Responding to the SRH and HIV/AIDS needs of Ethiopian and refugee communities

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response

Implementing programs to address SGBV.

Community-based services

Providing a range of community-based services, including rehabilitation, child protection, and MHPSS.

Child Protection

Implementing programs to protect children from abuse, exploitation, and neglect.

Education

Supporting education initiatives, including access to quality education and vocational training.

Rehabilitation services

Establishing orthopedic and physiotherapy units in fourteen hospitals across Ethiopia, supported by Handicap International France, UNHCR, and the British Embassy.

Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD):

Providing ECCD services to promote the holistic development of young children.

Assistance for Older Persons

Providing support and services to older persons, including healthcare, social services, and economic assistance

Support for Persons with Chronic Health Conditions

Offering support and services to individuals with chronic health conditions, including access to healthcare, rehabilitation, and assistive devices.
